USCIS Notifies Stakeholders of H-1B Workload Transfer – End of Transition Period

On August 5, 2016, the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service (“USCIS”) reminded the public that all H-1B petitions and H-1B1 petitions for nationals of Chile and Singapore, in which a petitioning company requests a “Continuation of previously approved employment without change with the same employer” (Box b. on Part 2, Question 2, Page 2 of the current Form I-129) must be filed with the Nebraska Service Center, beginning September 1, 2016. Other ancillary applications are also impacted. For more information, please see https://www.uscis.gov/news/alerts/nebraska-service-center-accept-certain-h-1b-petitions

The USCIS provided a transition period for filing such cases at the Nebraska Service Center from July 1, 2016 through August 31, 2016. As of September 1, 2016, if the cases are not filed at the correct Service Center, they will be rejected.
